Concert blogs
The best concert I've been to leaves other performances far behind. May 2014 we went to see the Eagles in the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. They came to the Netherlands for the History of the Eagles tour. A series of concerts in which they did not just play the greatest hits, but performed them in chronological order in different formations.
Don Henley and Glenn Frey started with the older country classics Take It Easy and Peaceful Easy Feeling. Later Joe Walsh joined, guitarist who had to help the band change from country to a bit more rock 'n roll. Finally, Bassist Timothy B. Schmidt completed the foursome that can call themselves the Eagles in the final line-up. He is responsible for writing and singing beautiful sensitive records such as I Can't Tell You Why. The concert ended with Desperado and Hotel California. All in all, a magical evening.
A year and a half later, Glenn Frey dies of complications from an operation and 2014 appears to be the last time that the Eagles perform live in the Netherlands in the complete line-up.
